Vaucluse Bay to Xmas morning tea at Chowder Bay (12kms)

Pre-Christmas party paddle – Saturday 6 Dec approximately 12 kms

This paddle launches us from Vaucluse Bay, and we’ll paddle for around 1.5 hours will we land at Chowder Bay for the annual Xmas party.

We’ll meet at Vaucluse Bay at 8.30a, (look for Beach Paddock in Google maps, and park on Wentworth Road near Olala Avenue).  Here there is free all-day parking and with a short walk down the hill, we can launch by 9am at a sandy beach in a high tide.  What’s not to love about that?

Depending on the winds, we’ll choose a short 1.5 hour Harbour tour, e.g. around Shark Island or cross to Watsons Bay before crossing the harbour and landing at Chowder Bay by 10.30 in time for the party. So by the time we indulge in Xmas pancakes we will have earned our thirst and hunger.

Assuming we will stay at the party for a few hours we have a short crossing back to the launch spot and be back at our cars by 2.00pm.
