Meandering on the Myall
23-24 November
Grades 1 and above
An overnighter exploring parts of the Myall Lakes system just north of Newcastle (approximately a 2-hour drive from the start of the F1 at Wahroonga). A great opportunity perhaps to discover the independence and joy of “living out of the boat” for the first time.
Day 1: We put-in at Nerong Inlet, venture into The Broadwater and head north up Boolambayte Lake to our campsite (approx. 15kms) with a couple of shore breaks along the way. There is an option for those wanting to do a little more paddling (approx. 12kms) on this day to experience the intimate confines Boolambayte Creek.
Day 2: We return to Nerong Inlet via the historic fishing settlement of Tamboy, on the northern end of the Lower Myall River. Distance for the day approx. 18kms with a couple of shore breaks.
Participants will need to be self-sufficient in terms of shelter, food and water.
The planned route is subject to suitable conditions.
