Mega X-Ray Ultralight Fibreglass Sea Kayak - Perfect Condition

Lightweight fibreglass surf kayak. This beautiful boat is in perfect condition and has been very rarely used - never since 2010.

The Mega X-Ray model was paddled by the winner of the World Championships in 2005 and the design was so successful that it is one of only two models that Mega have since produced as a rotomoulded HDPE design (which would be significantly heavier than this fibreglass boat).

The X-Ray is a classic Mega design, with hard rails and a sharp secondary release rail for superior carving. The design boasts a significant rocker which allows for late, steep take-offs and low-profile ends to allow for rodeo style manoeuvres. It is a joy to paddle, and it effortlessly handles big surf, barrel rides and aerial moves.

This kayak suits a small to medium sized paddler. I am 6'1" and about 80kg and I am probably nearing the top end of the size of kayaker suited to this boat. The 3-fin design is flexible to suit your needs as the fin placement is easily adjustable. Included with the kayak are two Solution kayak floats which fit perfectly in the bow to offer additional floatation. I've included a spare set of three fins too. There are also two spare foam foot blocks that you can easily shape into custom moulded foot rests to suit your own body shape. The kayak is fitted with Mega Thermoform thigh braces.

The boat is in perfect condition - the only place where I can find any signs of corrosion are on the safely leash attachment points where the aluminium bar has a tiny amount of pock-marking from the salt but it is seriously barely noticeable. I used it for about 2 months when I first bought it but then moved away from the ocean. I now live in the Blue Mountains, have a young family and virtually never get to the beach.

Length: 2.24m

Width: 63cm

Approx: 13kg

This kayak was my pride and joy and it is a very reluctant sale. I purchased the boat for about $2200 and I have been meticulous with looking after it.
