Grade 3 weekend #2 (Currarong)

This weekend is for club grade 3 paddlers and above only.
The aim of the weekend is to gather a significant portion of the club's grade 3 paddlers (and above) and have some good times, trips, a challenge, some skills development and a casual dinner out somewhere on the Saturday night.
On 5-6 May, I launched a concept event for Grade 3s only. The weekend, by all accounts, worked.....and participants expressed an interest in having more of these types of weekends. In an effort to prove that the Grade 3 weekend event concept really does have merit, I am organising another weekend event. And we will see how many come along and whether we can refine the concept.
All Grade 3s are welcome. There will be something for everyone so feel free to join in, both trips and development sessions. Development sessions at a variety of levels will be offered; from sea skills refreshers through to advancing your skills. Come along even if you aren't quite as fit as you used to be or your skills have declined.
Location is based at Currarong.
At the inaugural event, the weekend program was run a little bit like RnR whereby instructors and trip leaders put forward trip sheets and the participants signed up to which ever idea they wanted to. This free range process seems to work and kept most peple happy so we will most likely run with it again.
The development ideas that may be included are rock gardens, surfing skills, advanced self rescues, assisted rescues and a grade 3 refresher.
