Nominations for National Parks Advisory Council
Dear Club Members
The NSW Government, The Office of Environment and Heritage, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, has written to me in my capacity as President of the Club. Briefly, the NPWS consider our club a peak recreational body and, as such, have invited me to make nominations for a person to sit on the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council, a body constituted under the NP&W Act to advise the Minister for the Environment on a range of issues about management of national parks and reserves, protection of wildlife, conservation agreements and wilderness areas.
I assume that a number of peak recreation bodies have received similar invitations as the letter says that only one person on this Council will originate from a peak recreational body.
The appointment is for 4 years. There are 4 meetings per year with additional sub-committee meetings should the person be appointed to one of these.
To be considered, please email me by reply to this e-news or using the subject line “Nominations for National Parks Advisory Council” by 29 February 2012 and I shall email interested persons with further details and request for information.
Regards
David Fisher
Club President
